Our Pastor, Rev. Aaron Reinking, has lived most of his life in Northeast Georgia. He is a graduate of Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, Georgia, and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Pastor Reinking’s professional background is in secondary education and he holds degrees from Emmanuel College (Franklin Springs), the University of Georgia (Athens), and California State University (Dominguez Hills). Serving as a social studies teacher has been an enriching and educational experience that God has used to teach him many things and touch the lives of many young people. He currently teaches 8th grade full time and teaches an online class for high school students part time.
After serving in various roles in his home congregation of Trinity Lutheran (Athens), he was called into the ministry in 2009. Pastor Reinking’s seminary education was through Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 2012 he was ordained as a Pastor in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Pastor Reinking has a passion for missions and proclaiming the Gospel. From 2012-2013 he completed a field study with Living Faith Lutheran Church in Cumming, Georgia, to help prepare for the planting of a new congregation in an area of Northeast Georgia where there was not a Lutheran presence. After much prayer and preparation, Christ the King in Commerce was begun.
Pastor Reinking lives in the Neese community of Madison County with his wife and son, and also has 2 adult children. His greatest joy is his salvation that is in Jesus Christ. It is a great blessing to be able to learn the truths of the Bible and serve the Lord and His people in ministry. He enjoys reading, learning about and visiting new places, following various sports (Go Bulldogs!), preparing and eating good food (especially BBQ, German, and Greek food), and spending time with his family.
