“For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” Galatians 5:13-14
As Christians we are called to serve God and our neighbors. Who is our neighbor? In response to this question Jesus tells the parable of the Good Samaritan (St. Luke 10). Our neighbors are those in need. At Christ the King we endeavor to reach out in service to the local community and around the world. Over the years, we have supported and participated in a variety of ministry projects.
We do not give out money directly to individuals for assistance, but are happy to point those in need in the direction of organizations that can help. An alms fund is maintained to help people who have immediate needs.
